Autumn School on Advanced 2D and Thin-Film Materials: Processing, Device Fabrication and Characterization
A 2-day Autumn School will be organized prior to the ElectroCeramics XX Conference, on 10–11 October 2026, with a capacity of 50 participants. The School will take place at the BioSense Institute (University of Novi Sad), a research center equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and laboratory facilities, providing an excellent environment for practical learning.
The school will provide participants with a stimulating introduction to advanced 2D materials in a broader sense, covering graphene, transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), MXenes, and related thin-film material systems. Through a carefully designed combination of expert lectures and laboratory sessions, the program will offer both a strong theoretical foundation and direct insight into the experimental approaches used in this field.
Lectures delivered by researchers working in these areas will introduce the fundamental principles, current challenges, and technological relevance of these materials, while the laboratory sessions will complement the scientific content through practical demonstrations of synthesis, processing, characterization, and device-related methods. In this way, participants will be able to follow the research pathway from material preparation to integration into functional devices and evaluation of their performance.
By bringing together theory, application, and hands-on exposure, the school aims to give participants a broader and more connected understanding of modern research on 2D and thin-film materials. Beyond the scientific program, the school will also create space for exchange and community building through two social events. One of these will take the form of a dinner with lecturers, offering an informal setting for discussion, networking, and presentation of the Young Ceramists Network (YCN).
This Autumn School is limited to 50 participants ! Register here.
